I just got my first Veiled Chameleon and he is about 2 inches long (not including tail). It is eating like crazy! I've only had it roughly 24 hours and it's already eaten about 15 crickets, is that normal. Also it's drank a few drops of water a few times. Can you over feed them?

Welcome and congrats on your first chameleon. It is always good to check your husbandry when first getting started, so if you fill out this form we will give you some pointers.

* Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
* Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
* Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?

* Location - Where are you geographically located?

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.

I think you can overfeed them but when theyre young they need to eat more vigorously because they are growing.

Hello & welcome, we are glad to have you join us. Since your chameleon is small, I would let him eat whatever he wants. At that age they need to eat to grow. After he hits 6 or 7 months then he should slow down. We are here to help if you need us.
