i’m not entirely sure what this is. it started out as a little patch a few days ago then it grew to this size and i began to notice his spikes turning black and there’s some skin still holding onto them. i think it’s a burn from his heat lamp. but how do i treat and help it heal??

Looks like a burn. The best thing for it is flamazine/silver sulfadiazine.
Make sure you move the light far enough away so it doesn't happen again.

Another vote for a first degree burn that happened well over a week ago. If it was a second, then by now it would be slightly swelled and even oozing clear/yellowish dew along the spikes.
