Nice looking Ambilobe. He looks healthy...

80 is a little warm for the cage.. 70 - 75 is ideal with a basking of 85 to 90. He may be low twards the bottom because of the heat.. Trying to cool off. Him being on a vine and not on the bottom of the cage is a good thing. Also he is eating very well. Do you supliment?

Is the new cage you are working on tomorrow a screened one (I hope).. The more room will make him a lot happier. I think he is just way to large for the cage.
Also you may want to get some living plants in there and maybe some more sticks or vine for him to climb around on. Make it like he has a later from the top to the bottom using vine and sticks.

Does he sleep during the day or close his eyes at all.

What type of UV bulb are you using?

yes screen is all i use i make them at my work and the new one is 36x24x48 and im goin to get some plants tomarow as well
i use herp and rep 3 times a week
and never but he has been a little lazy
and he will stay down thir even when i turn the heat light off

With a 36x24x48 he will be so much happier. I think he just doen't have much room to move around. More branches and live plants will help a lot.

He looks happy and healthy even if he is a little lazy:p They are not know for running around a lot. I think he is just ready for a new home.

When your done with your cage post some pics so we can see the new setup . Oh and I would say he is probably closer to 5 months old. At least his colors look about about a 5 month olds colors. I bet his next shed he will POP.

Howdy Brian,

Glad to hear that you are using a Reptisun 5.0 linear tube for your chameleon's UVB source. By any chance is the clear plastic lens still in place on that fixture? That particular fixture in your setup photo comes with a clear plastic lens that does not pass any UVB and many keepers are not aware that it must be removed .
