My female veiled chameleon is not acting very well! I don't know what I should do, she is not opening her eyes very much, we have her taking lliquid calcium and we are giving her water also. She hasn't been eating for almost a week, but she is drinking water herself. Today when we were giving her the liquid calcium, she started acting very strange, she is holding her head up high and is opening her mouth to take these like heavey breathes. She is still also keeping her eyes shut lots. Oh please what do I do, I'm so worried about her. She is also around 7 months old.
I think I just added a picture of her, she is just acting so wierd.....

We have had her for about a month, this is my first one ever. We had not been fully aware of everything we needed to take care of her, so when we bought the humidifier we were not misting as much and also we were not giving her the calcium and other vitamins she needed. She then stopped eating and was keeping her eyes shut most of the day! I didn't know what to do, but luckily I meet someone who has six chameleons and is very knowledgeable about them. He told us about proper nutrition and said to try giving her the liquid calcium to help boost her up because she wasn't eating. The cage is a mesh one, we do not have live plants yet but will be buying her some next week, I was given a list of good plants that she can have is the cage. I don't know what other information to give. If she do not improve after tonight we plan to take her to a vet I do not know any vets who are well informed about chameleons.

I don't know vets in BC, there is no cham vet here in the Yukon that's for sure. :( So I just take mine to a regular vet and she asks other vets for more information. Everything worked out just fine so far. But may be you will find a special vet close to you!

sandrachameleon who's a long time member from BC has this vet listed in the vets by area

If that's anywhere near you - I don't know of any other BC members off hand and I would trust her to know a good vet without knowing her or the vet - her posts are always backed up with research and personal experience.
