I notice no one has answered you yet.

It looks like it might be an eye infection. I would have him to the vet as soon as possible.

In the mean time, I would be inclined to clean up the eye. Do you have an automatic misting system? If so, turn it on for 20 minutes and then take a damp cotton ball and see if a gentle wipe will get rid of all that crud. If you don't have an automatic misting system, a shower would work. Put him on a plant and aim the shower for the wall so he isn't hit with the shower, just the mist that bounces off the wall. Make the water a little warmer than body temperature. You can also use artificial tears (use the individual packets that don't have any preservatives in them) and just keep soaking it trying to soften the dried gunk. Sterile saline solution would work as well. You just want to gently clean the eye up so he can close it and clean it himself. If you can get him outside, in real sun that would help as well--it's a good boost for the immune system.

Thank you for the advice. I was acutely able to loosen it up and fully remove all of the substance covering the eye with saline and a Q tip. I then used some of the turtle eye drops by zoo med and his eye looks a lot better today. I plan on trying the drops for a couple more days as well as giving him some outdoor real sun sessions and see how that goes.

Thnaks again

You should probably still take him to a reptile vet these things don't always go away by themselves. He will most likely need some antibiotic ointment for that eye.

I would be careful putting something in his eye that was not prescribed. Atleast call your vet and ask if it is ok to use those types of drops. Definitely looks like an infection for sure.

I ended up taking him to the vet after the eye problem came back up a couple of days ago, he was given a vitamin A drop and I received vetericyn ophthalmic gel to apply daily.
