Chameleon Info:
• Your Chameleon – Sambava Panther, I’ve had him about 2 weeks from Kammers so should be close to 4 months now.
• Handling – Twice last week, left alone the rest of the time.
• Feeding – Offer him about 10 small crickets, 2 butterworms and 2 hornworms. Gutload crickets with cricket crack, strawberries, carrots, and collard greens.
• Supplements – Reptivite w/o D3 every feeding, switch between D3 and multivitamin every other Friday.
• Watering – Mist 3 times a day and constant dripper, does drink regularly.
• Fecal Description – Black poop with white urate every time.
• History – Got him from Kammers about 2 weeks ago at 3.5 months old.
Cage Info:
• Cage Type – 18x18x36 screen cage
• Lighting – 5.0 reptisun 15 inch and 40 watt household bulb from 7:40 am-8:20 pm.
• Temperature – Highest point in basking spot is 84-85, bottom of cage is 70. Thermometer reading
• Humidity – Top of cage is about 55%, bottom is 65-70%.
• Plants – Pothos and mass cane, orchid in the bottom corner.
• Placement – Relatively high traffic area next to bathroom, but I have put a sheet across front of cage so he can’t see out, cage is about 5 feet high.
• Location – Tallahassee, Fl.
Current Problem – Has not been eating as much as expected, maybe 5-6 small crickets a day. I usually put 2-4 butter and horn worms in to try and stimulate him to eat, which he does so, but he rarely goes to the feeding cup were the crickets are and its below his basking area, so he can definitely see it and has eaten from there before. I also put some crickets on the screen and he will slowly eat them, but after about 2 or 3 he gets scared of me and hides, so I leave him alone to see if he goes to the cup but at the end of the night, there are still about 5 crickets left. I’m worried he is not eating enough and wont grow correctly, I have seen him drink water and poop regularly though and his eyes and mouth look healthy. I do notice he stays in his basking spot much more than my other cham and stays a dark color most of the time, and won't leave it until i mist the cage or later towards evening. Please any help or advice is appreciated, thanks.
