A picture would probably help. She's old enough to be gravid. I would suggest you get a laying bin in there now for her as a precaution.

Why would you be worried shes eggbound? Has she been pacing the cage at all? Has she stopped eatting? Has she suddenly looked noticeably larger? If she is carrying eggs generally you can see them. Look like marbles on her lower flanks. But either way get a suitable laying bin in her cage asap. If she is looking to lay an infertile clutch then she will dig some test holes and lay. You do know you need a bin with soil/sand mix that is damp not soaking wet. Make sure its at least 12" deep min.

Sounds like she is just getting her adult receptive coloring. I have one female who has only laid when bred, but retains her pretty pink/orange colors all of the time. She is retired now. Yours should certainly wait a few more months. I put a laying bin in with all of my 5+ month old females as a precaution, but her coloring should not scare you.

And dont breed her til shes about a year old. Females generally lead shorter lives anyway due to stress of reproduction. No need to further shorten her life by breeding her at an early age. You really should do alot of research before you start breeding. You should already know this before getting into any breeding project.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I'll make sure i put a egg laying bin in the cage with her just in case! If she's this big now she's gonna me a monster when she's gravid!
