My flapneck chameleon has had something sticking from his vent for a few days now. I'm a first time chameleon owner and have had him since November. When trying to do some research about what it could be, I found that it can be a number of things. I don't know if it is a sperm plug, his hemipene or prolapse but I'm very concerned. From looking at other pictures, I think it looks like a sperm plug, but I'm not positive. It it rock hard. I've tried soaking him in warm water and tried to remove it but it is stuck pretty good and I didn't want to pull too hard as to not hurt him. He's fine otherwise. Still eating and not behaving any differently. I just want to know what this is and how I can help him. If there's something I can do myself, I'll take any suggestions. If I need to take him to a vet, can someone recommend one in the New York City area? Preferably in Brooklyn or Queens? I don't think any of my local vets deal with reptiles.
I've attached some photos.
Thanks in advance!
