Help! Sperm Plug? Hemipene? Prolapse?

My flapneck chameleon has had something sticking from his vent for a few days now. I'm a first time chameleon owner and have had him since November. When trying to do some research about what it could be, I found that it can be a number of things. I don't know if it is a sperm plug, his hemipene or prolapse but I'm very concerned. From looking at other pictures, I think it looks like a sperm plug, but I'm not positive. It it rock hard. I've tried soaking him in warm water and tried to remove it but it is stuck pretty good and I didn't want to pull too hard as to not hurt him. He's fine otherwise. Still eating and not behaving any differently. I just want to know what this is and how I can help him. If there's something I can do myself, I'll take any suggestions. If I need to take him to a vet, can someone recommend one in the New York City area? Preferably in Brooklyn or Queens? I don't think any of my local vets deal with reptiles.

I've attached some photos.

Thanks in advance!

I can't see clearly but it looks like a prolapse. If it is it needs to be kept moist with KY jelly until it can be put back in by a vet. Good luck!

Hey, I live in scarsdale, NY and my vet is pretty good. It's about 30 minutes north of manhattan. The practice is called Central Animal Hospital and the vet that deals with Chameleon's name is Dr. Jason Siegelheim. He is really great. The address is
317 Ardsley Road
Scarsdale, NY 10583

Phone: 914-723-1250
Website: http://bestvets.net/
Sorry if this is inconvenient but this really is the best practice I know of. They have helped many animals in my "menagerie" and Dr Siegelheim really knows his reptiles.

you may also want to try Bond Animal Hospital in white plains. They have chameleons specifically listed as one of the animals they can treat

Actually, it looks like both.

The whitish thing ithinkis a huge sperm plug. I betif you pulled gently, it will comeout, and the hemepene will go back in.

My boy had a huge pug once too, like an inch long, and it popped out.

Try to gently pull on it, maybe have someone hold him while you use two hands to hold the hemepene still while gently tugging he white thing.

The OP had already tried to free it up after softening it with warm water, to no avail.

I still can't forget the post about the poor cham whose owner pulled on a sperm plug and caused a serious prolapse.
