Help...red thing coming out

I just had my chameleon out he was fine walking around climbing but i just misted his viv and put him back he had a lick and a RED thing came out of his bum(it was big) what is this? he is eating well looks fine i have only noticed this today about 10 mins ago, its has gone back in just worried

Did it come out when he was pooping, then go back in?

Either it was his hemipenes that came out, or a small part of his vent. It's normal, usually they pop out for a couple seconds when the cham poops.

When it doesn't go back in, that is the cause for concern.

no i got him out coz he wanted to come out then i put him back it i turnt to look at him and he had this red thing coming out of his bum!!

it was only out for a min or to it has gone back in now and seems happy now hanging about like he does.

would it be anything to do with sexual maturation??? i have done some research and everything says it is normal and might be because he has got excited lol

I think YOU HAVE BEEN FLASHED that was his "parts" ( hemipenes ) as long as they went back in, and he seems fine, no worries- if it was red, they look like 2 little "fingers" - and sometimes you will find little white things ( sperm plugs) - he is just showing you his "big boy" parts
