hi, my yemen chameleon was digging on the bottom of her viv last friday and had changed to a really dark green and brown colour, we were advised that she wanted to lay eggs so we set up a laying bin for her and she eventually went in it yesterday and started digging, over night i think she has layed them bacause this morning i checked her and she has gone extremely thin but still very dark, she still seems to be digging/covering up tho so i was wondering should i take her out of the bin or wait for her to get out herself. today was the first time she has eaten in about 5 to 6 days, thanks

Welcome to the forums. It sounds like your girl may be finished. How is she doing now? How many eggs did she lay? I always give my girls a really long misting after laying and feed them as many well gut loaded feeders as they want, that are dusted in calcium with no D3. If you have liquid calcium give her a few drops for the next few days. After she looks to be back in good health you can cut back her feeders and lower her temps to help prevent laying more eggs in the future or at least help cut back on the size of her clutch. Here's a link to a good blog on keeping a female veiled. http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/2007/12/keeping-female-veiled.html

Make sure to feed alot. UNfortunatly laying eggs caused alot of stress and work on to the chameleon so they live less than males :(:(:(:( but make sure to feed her alot and mist he more often. Sound like she is done laying eggs:D
