I have a Male Veiled who is almost 6 months old, i have never had an issue with him not eating til now. He didnt eat anything for 2 days then ate 3 giant meal worms the following day and has not eaten for 3 days since. I saw him drink yesterday once:confused but he will not eat his crickets of his meal worms. after the first 2 days i thought his cage might be too small as he was in an 18x18x24 screen cage with a heat lamp and a uvb bulb, i got him a 36x18x18 and he ate 3 meal worms that day. He is still active and acting ok, he just wont eat. Any suggestions would be very helpful! Thank you!

I had the same problem when i first got my vielded female.. I learnt she had MBD cause the petstore was not taking care of her right.. anways she didn't eat for like 4 days being in her new habitat so that's probably what happening with your vielded, most likely just getting used to the change in habitat.. I gave my girl repta-aid.. and fed it to her with a syringe, it gives them a boost & gets them to start eating again. If you can find it at a local pet store or reptile store you should pick it up! .. I don't know if your new to chameleons, but if you are this site reaaly helps alot.. I pretty much ask everyone on here anything i'm not 100% about, better safe than sorry!

Sometimes eating slows down as they get older. I know many members feed their older chams every three days. Filling out the how to ask for help will help people further help you with the problems though.

Hi!

Here's a link to the "form".

Just copy the questions, paste into a reply and add your responses. Please be as detailed as possible, don't worry about grossing us out, we can take it.

I'll say upfront that meal worms are not the best staple feeder. You should probably only offer those every so often.

Also, around 6 months they start to need less food, so some reduction in eating is normal. When he's fully grown, you'll find he sometimes doesn't eat for more than 3 days.
