Was the vet good? I'd like to see if he's better than the one I usually go to.
If you dont mind me asking, how much was the whole visit+operation?
Did he give antibiotics? I've never delt with prolapse but from what I've heard infection is still a danger after amputation.
For future reference it should be taken care of sooner, if ignored necrosis, and infection due to prolapse can easily be life threatening, however if you keep the tissue moist (with ky jelly and/or a sugar water solution) and get them to a vet asap they maybe able to put it back in with out amputation (which would clearly be safer and more pleasant for everyone)
