Help me out

ok so about 10 days ago i took my little guy into the vet because i saw that he would every 10 min or so open his mouth to ex-hail and i can see a small bubble he will make with his spit. he also will sit there with his mouth open for a few seconds at a time every once in awhile. I'm not sure if i should take him back or what. it cost me $47 to take him in and the lady said it looks like he had a small inflammation in his mouth but it doesn't look serious or anything and looks like his healing correctly on its on and she didn't want to give him meds because he was so small. i have looked him his mouth recently and doesn't look like there is any inflammation anymore but he is still doing the bubble thing. it there a remedy i should try on my own first or take him again. i just don't want to go down there for them to tell me the same thing again. any help would be great. thanks

it sounds like he might be developing a respitory infection. open mouth breathing, bubbley saliva, heavy breathing, popping sounds when breathing, closing eyes alot, these are all signs of a respitory infection. even though it seems liike he only has a couple of the symptoms i would take him to a reptile vet as soon as you can because if it is a respitory infection he will need antibiotics to get better and you want to catch it before it starts affecting other parts of his body like his eyes.

what are your basking and ambient temps?

was the vet you took him to a reptile vet? i personally would go to a good reptile vet as chameleons are a special species and the best thing to do would see someone with some knowledge of them. you can find reptile vets on this site! http://www.arav.org/find-a-vet/ you can search for vets by country and state.
