Hello. My name is Arturo. I have my first chameleon about 2 months ago. He has been very shy. He does not let me handle him and he tries to hide when we open the cage. Well i need to know what supplements should i buy and how often do i have to give it to him. He has been eating worms and crickets. The worms he will eat them at night. The crickets through the day (mostly weekends). I always try to dust them in calcium and vitamin D. I will post pics of my cage later today. THE PROBLEM. yesterday i noticed his left eye is almost closed all the way. I don't know if he can see. What should i do before taking him to the vet. i could probably take him to the vet Friday
I have a dripper.
I have a mister ( I think is a mister).
I have a long UV light.
Blue light for day.
Red light for nights.
I need help to see what could i put in the ground of the cage so i could keep humidity.
Working on adding plants to the cage.

Hi there welcome to the forum. No red light at all. No light at night at all. They need the cool down at night and they need total darkness.

You should be using phosphorus free calcium WITHOUT D3 at every feeding except 2 times a month say the 1st and the 15th you should use a multivitamin with D3. Now this is if you have a veiled or panther. Can you confirm what species you have?

Take pics of the cage lights down and of the supplements you are using along with the cham.
