Please help! I just got my baby veiled chameleon 3-4 months old this morning. He is doing fine so far: active, eating, and drinking.
I was watching him and he started rubbing his eye on one of the fake leaves to itch it I suppose and I popped out! He rubbed it and it went back in and he blinked a couple of times and it seems to go back into place. he is walking around and seems fine now but I am very worried about him right now. Is this normal? Has this happened to anyone else!? Is there something I need to do I don't want this to happen again or my baby to be hurt!!

He is in a 18"x24"by3' screen cage.
There are fake vines, sticks from my back yard, a pothos plant, and a schefflera plant. I wiped these down with water before putting them in.
He has a basking bulb and a UVB bulb

he has eatten a mealworm and probably 5 small crickets today all covered with calcium.

It's normal- but I would keep a watch on his eye - they bug their eyes out like that when cleaning them - and most likely since he went back to acting normal it's not a problem - unless the eye doesn't look normal or has an obvious injury.

Okay good! I was really freaked out when I saw that. He is acting normal, but I'm still going to watch out just in case.

Thank you so much for responding!
