Picked up my baby veiled chameleon today after doing plenty of research. He's living in an exoterra flexarium, its filled with sticks and plants to climb on but when he tried to climb onto the plastic in the flexarium he couldnt grip and fell a fair distance to the bottom of his enclosure. He seems fine and unhurt and has climbed his way back up but next time he might not be as lucky, will he learn or is there anyway to prevent this happening again, was thinking of wrapping some sand paper around them?

He should be fine. He will learn quickly where he can and can't go. Just make sure he has lots of small branches that fit his little feet. Congrats on your baby.

Also, baby chams are said to be fallproof. Because of their little mass and surface area at that size, their terminal velocity is so low that they could fall from 100 feet (in theory) and be fine. If he continually takes hard falls, then you might have reason to worry.

Thanks for the quick responses, was just a bit scary to watch him take such a fall, i'll leave things as they are for now and keep an eye on him.
