Hey marcqel here, new to the forum with my first chameleon. I picked up a Translucent Veiled chameleon from chameleonsgalore and he is doing absolutely great. 3 Months old, happily eating from my hand, vibrant green, and walking around and exploring his cage. His name is undecided yet, he's a cute lil bugger.:) he's 3 months old!

He looks just great. I like the cage also. I would lift the light up off the screen so he can't get burned.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on getting such an adorable little guy!

As Laurie said, I would get the light off the screen and a few inches away asap to prevent any burns should he decide to sit too close to it.

Yes, hang that light above his cage or move the branches, I had gotten my veiled from a very poorly cared for shelter, veileds are susceptible to what I call burnt casque syndrome, they stand too close to their heating lamps and burn the top skin layer off. This can lead to bare bone on the front of the casque and peeling flesh off and around. It caused my chameleon's casque to be in a constant state of shedding 24/7. He also burnt his chin, and has a small hole at the bottem of his chin.

Love the "casper" recommendation. Again welcome. Great start on the enclosure. I'm a huge live plant fan. Go getcha a pothos and put in there. You and Casper will love it.

Alrighty thanks guys, i don't have a clamp right yet so i manouvered his branches so he can't be within reach of any of the metal, i did however feel the aluminum gating after having the light on for a good 2 day's and it's not even slighty warm. Possibly has a heat resistant coating. Thanks by the way, i did my research and spent my money to make sure he has a great home. I'm planning on taking monthly photo's and updating them to here so everyone else can sort of see him grow as well:) excited to see what he will look like when he's older. Anyone got any pictures/thoughts to what you think he will look like?

PS. Sorry for the wall of text^ :)
