I just recently got an Ambanja Panther and he is already very very colorful when he wants to be. He is very calm and doesnt get aggitated when I take him out of his enclosure, which is good because he doesnt mind being handled. I have done alot of research but would like your guys' opinions and advice. He is about 5 months old and is showing red/black bars with a yellow mouth and his body is mostly green with blue speckles except his gullet thing under his chin its bright blue....what can I expect? Most of everything I find talks about Ambilobe Panthers not Ambanja so does anyone want to help shed some light? Like is it normal for him to be so calm and not mind being handled? I got him from LLL Reptile in San Diego, I got him because he didnt try and bite me when I picked him up. His name is Turk btw. And is it ok to take him out with me if I go outside like as long as he stays on me? things like that is what I would like to know please help!:D here is a couple pictures of him...

he is sitting on my steering wheel...

HI Welcome to the forums!!!:D

Ambanjas are the same as ambilobes cuz they are both panther chameleons and have the same care...

The only difference is the locale they come from at Madagascar...there are towns called ambilobe and ambanja and sambava, etc....

each area has a certain color morph or phase of panther chameleon...:)

anyway he looks healthy and great!!!...just dont handle him alot cuz it can stress him out ...but he seems very calm which is awsome and is normal...
it just has the type of personaLity each cham has...cuz some can be very mello and others very big meanies:D:p:cool:

Thank you, its wierd because the jackson I had hated being handled and would puff up and get mad if I took him out but Turk doesnt do any of it he seems to enjoy being out and about. His behavior is funny and reminds me of a cat or a dog he seems very curious about what is around him. His encloser is all mesh and is 16" x 16" x 30". I have a ficus in it, I feed him crickets and an occasional meal worm. I feed the crickets gut load and coat them in his vitamin calcium stuff before putting them into his enclosure. I have a temperature gage in it but I dont think it works right because it is reading totally different from the first couple days. I have the reptisun bulb in there with the UVA, UVB, and heat combo. The picture I have of his enclosure is a little blurry and the only pictures I have of him so far is of him in my car but I will put them up. I appriciate the help. What is the temp supposed to be about and when I spritz the water should I spritz him or not? About how many crickets should I give him in a week?
