the standard cham lights, but I get lots of external light in my home

Nah not really, if you have a lot of light from windows you're good with many of the standard plants. Higher light plants of course will probably need something extra. I have 2 massive nearly 7 foot tall ficus alii thriving in my side room getting no light other than from a couple windows.

Hi and welcome! There’s a few different plants that make wonderful centerpieces. Umbrella tree, money tree ficus benjamina, hibiscus, etc. I’ll attach the graphics below. For just about any plants (except maybe pothos and philodendron), you need a good plant light. I only have one male veiled and he occasionally takes a nibble of his plants. My girls however, all of their plants are riddled with their bite marks.

Buddy doesn't touch any of the fruit or veggies I put in for the crickets--is there a good external list (one here is being rebuilt) I can/should look at?

Welcome on here! So veileds need live insects only, they're insectivores. The only plant matter that should be available are the live, veiled-tested plants in your cham's enclosure.
