Hi all,

Thought i would pop along and introduce myself.

Me and my wife are now the proud parents of 2 baby Veiled Chams (Zack & Miri) - hatched approx 10wks ago.

We have kept 2 Green Iguanas for many years now but we always fancied keeping Chams one day, its somthing about the cute googly eyes!

They are big eaters! each consuming 10+ Crix / Locusts a day
Both are still quite shy and spend lots of time hiding in their plants but venture out to eat and bask.

Welcome, this site is a great place to be for any information you need or questions you have.

They're still young, 10 weeks I think you said. It's probably ok to keep them together right now. I don't know a definite age as to when you need to seperate them, but you won't be able to keep them both in the same cage for a whole lot longer. Check out this link,http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/, there's some great very useful information there. I'm not 100% certain, but it looks like there is a light inside the cage.

Most people would like for you to fill this out:
Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?

Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?

Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?

Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?

Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?

Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?

Location - Where are you geographically located?

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?

Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?

Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?

Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?

Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?

Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?

History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Current Problem - The current problem that you are concerned about.

Not all of these question pertain to you currently, specifically the last 2 don't, but the other info is useful.

Congratulations on getting a chamelon, they are amazing animals.

You may want to ask a moderator to move this to the "General Discussion" section. " I don't know if the "Lizard Lounge" posts pop up on the main page when new posts are made. If it doesn't people have to come look for this thread, and you may not get as many replies/help.
