I'm new to the forums, but a long-time lover of chameleons, so I wanted to introduce myself. I recently brought a baby Panther home, who seems to be doing great (ill post to the husbandry forum to make sure my care is adequate), but the hobby for me started with a veiled chameleon I rescued with severe mbd from a friend who had no supplementation Or uv lighting when I was 11. Vet said he was sure to die, and the xray showed little to no bone mass, but I managed to nurse him back to health on a diet of blended up crickets, waxworms and reptivite with d3 (and plenty of sunlight). He then lived another 4 Or 5 years in my care, albeit with some bent arms and legs, and a casque shaped like free Willy's fin.
As for myself, I'm currently a biology student at wcsu, and for work I do research on blacklegged ticks, but I hope to eventually do research and conservation work with chameleons possibly as a grad student, there are wonderfully knowledgeable herpetology and embryology professors where I work so I feel like I might be in the right place!
Excuse me for the long winded first post, I'm just excited to have joined a forum with so much information available and dedicated keepers and breeders!
