Hey everyone!
It all started 4 days ago...
A friend of mine told me he saw couple of chameleons on a pet store... I didnt actually believe him as most of my friends usually dont know the difference between an iguana and a chameleon... (stupid uh? ...-I know)
The thing is that I was around the area today, and I decided to stop by and see what the pet store really had, I was 100% sure that it was going to be some iguanas, but soh well.. I would get some mealworms or something for dante...
And there I was... walking around the store until I saw a fish tank with a male veiled cham...
I didnt believe it!!! (Its REALLY unusual for a pet store to sell chameleons in here in Mexico).
I was shocked, they had him in the worst condition ever! water bowl, no leafs at all... and the place was full of crickets...
As I was looking around the tank, I was shocked to see another cham there.. it was a female veiled cham.. she was REALLY dark... in a corner (I dont have a female, but I do know that black and yellow spots are usually gravid colors)
The thing is that I told the guy in the store that they had them in really bad conditions and he really didnt even pay attention to what I was saying...
I came back to the tank, and the male was being really intense with the female... I actually saw him trying to bite her, and she was REALLY stressed.
She looked skinny dehydrated.
I couldnt stand it.
I had to buy her
I didnt have any money so I had to use my credit card, but still couldnt afford the male.. because I had to get an extra screen cage that I bought from a friend of mine.
Its not as big as Dantes cage, but I believe it will be enough for her meanwhile I can set a nice enclosure for her.
The thing is... I know nothing about females, I know they are kept under lower temps and not much food...
But I dont know a thing about gravid females!!!!
Right now she is on her new cage with a nice photos and some vines I had.
Im working on a laying bin, Im gonna have inside her enclosure just to make sure she is safe.
What should I do? How should I care for her?
I know everything about males, I have had Dante for almost a year, but never had a gravid female!!!
I know about the laying bin, Ive seen Many videos, I just dont know about feeding ammount and stuff..
help pleasee
(I will upload pictures in a couple of more hours, Im still getting everything set)
