Heaters

Does anyone know if it is okay to put a plug-in wall heater just to warm the room tempature for my cham? I heard this could harm a cham but im not sure how it would.

Actually, I think that would help the humidity stay high.

Humidity also adds a few degrees to the temperature (holds it in).

You can get a radiant heat panel that you can mount somewhere, or a small space heater.

I use a space heater, they can get REALLY hot, so set it low to begin with and see how the temperature is after a few days before you set it higher.

Get a high quality one, it's worth paying extra for for something well made, for purposes of reducing the risk of fire and malfunction (overheating when set to low).

Yes i have a expensive space heater i had to order. Ill take a picture of it tomorrow and post it on here.

Are you using for heat or humidity? Its getting into warmer climates soon.

im using it for heat, just to heat the room up. My window does not close all the way tight so cold air gets in that room and it can get 60 degrees at some points and much colder during the nights so i turn on this heater to warm it up in general.

Here is the heater i am using (the flames are just decoration)

A space heater will not harm the chameleon. If forced air heat, ensure fan doesnt blow directly on the chameleon. spend some time ensuring you've got the right ambient temp set.

and buy some caulking or plastic to seal up that window? :)

ok cool. I'm replacing the window pretty soon anyways + its gettings warm outside, winter is pretty much over
