Heat question

Hey guys

I am desperately wanting another Cham, one for myself. My dad is very impressed with the care that Peanut has received and I'm rather proud of myself. Thanks to the advice and posts on this forum she has grown from a tiny little thing to a stong beautiful Cham. We've made it through her first egg laying and she seems as healthy as ever.

So an opportunity came up where i could have got myself a male Rudis, but someone beat me to the post. I allowed myself to get really excited about him, and was so disappointed.

Back to the point of the post.

I've always loved the threads and posts made on Pygmy Chams, and the Rep shop i bought Peanut from has a couple in, they dont usually have them.

I've read up on them in the links provided in other posts and am confident that i could make a go at keeping these little guys but not much is said about the temperatures.
The link i found on a post on here said they would live happily at room temp, then suggested mid to high 70's for day time, but to avoid temps in the high 80's. That like all Chams they need and tolerate a drop at night, so i thought i'd measure the temps at home.

At 1am the reading was 62.3
At 10.30 the reading was 66.4

I will post more temps throughout today.

Keeping in mind we are in a cold snap now, my house doesnt get colder than this usually do you think the pygmies would be ok?

Thanks guys and gals :D

The temp at 4.30pm was 69

I predict that it may rise just a little over the next hour or two as the heating goes on a bit when mum gets in from work, she's the only one that really feels the cold. I doubt it'll go up by much, will check about 10pm. That'd be the height of it as it gets switched off then.

I'm quite excited! I baked branches and leaves, I went out into the garden and found a few wood louse. They were hard to find actually, its cold out there!!

I set up a tank... but its on the small side, i will get straight onto that... but to be honest it is so much better then what they are in now. The Rep Shop is reliable and the care of the animals is really good, but these little ones, they're not set up right at all.

Whats the betting they will be gone by saturday?! Still, reading and planning has kept me happy for a few days :)

Ok, at the highest the temp reached 70.9 yesterday.

Do these temperatures seem good enough to you guys? Or will an additiona heat supply be needed?

:D

Thanks

No additional heat.
60 to 70 degrees f. is perfect for them.
Anything over 74 or 75 and they are getting too hot.
