Heat/basking bulbs

Ok I use a 60w standard basking bulb on a size small dome reflector.
Are there any other bulbs I can use that do the same job but give a better/nicer glow/light into the cage??

My vet said bulbs and tubes are equally good and bad.

u can get a dif "color" of bulb. they have them in many shades. white, clear, yellow, "natural", bright.
my cham likes the yellowish ones the most.

i use plant and floresent lights to light the cage not his backing light but i am sure my cage is larger and i need the bigger lights.

i use a 75 watt bulb in a dual bulb fixture and the other bulb is a 6500k CFL that allows my plants to get the light they need and it puts off a really good lookin color.

Colored lamps should be avoided.

I have had the best luck over the years with a PAR20 50w flood halogen. It only uses 50 watts of power but makes a lot of heat, so you save on energy. These lamps area 'indoor/outdoor' so if you get them wet when misting your cham you won't break the lamp and have any safety issues.

They look like this:

Do not buy the ones with te clear glass that say 'spot' on the box, these will burn your animal.
