Headway!

Ohhh That flapnecks a real doll, love those stripes! hopefully there's a change of heart and you can give him a home! play the but some mean cham n00b will get him and then he'll die **bats eyelashes**

LOL if that would work I would be able but unfortunately I'm new at the whole chameleon thing and instantly fell in love when my little girl Angel fell asleep on my finger

Thanks !! I love that first pic because his casque does look enormous in it. And I'm going to that url right now; as soon as you said something about the bloodlines I went straight to FL Chams because I was just looking at the bloodlines the other day but for some reason couldn't find it today.

Hey I'm looking at him again and he definitely has a casque more like Dempsy and he has that gold leg coloration as well.. his dark greens and browns are making me look at Dempsy more closely too. The thing that I'm noticing also is the dark green stripe on his casque in the second pic looks just like the dark green stripe in Dempsy's pic.

lol I'm new too, I wish my cham would lighten up, he's part shark i swear. if i could touch him i would.

chameleon ESP or something, they do weird things to you...
Something else that's stumps me with him is his color change. That first pic was taken early in the morning when I first turned his light on and he woke up; he's always that color when he sleeps. The second one was taken on a different day, several minutes after he was awake, but there's a huge difference. And for most of the day he stays a real dark color, unless he wants out, in which case he will look more like the first pic.

the day he was lighter it could have been warmer. The dark coloration could be that hes trying to warm up. I'm not so knowledgeable about the adult colors. Geordi's still in his baby green and brown stage. he has been going a little redder sometimes... IDK though... or it could be his "I'm not ready to wake up, why did you do that?" face :p

Geordi has been with us about 2 weeks now, and he just made a great step forward. I was just about to rename him Kujo because he's pretty mean. BUT the little stinker just took 3 crickets from me with tweezers!!!!! :D were on the right track :)

Congratulations! I know how that feels, every step in the right direction i super exciting. I train alot of animals and the key is patience and perseverance. Good luck and keep on truckin along:)

Haha maybe so with your little guy. But yeah on Hawk I just don't know. He's a very weird Veiled lol.

I have to mention another thing with the crickets, I had them by the leg, and my assumption was that the leg would come off. No, Instead the whole damn cricket ripped in half. That was a super shocker.

If you're talking about taking the legs off of them just pinch their legs really hard. That usually does the trick for me with crickets and grasshoppers. Whatcha taking the legs off for, if that's what you're doing?

Chameleons, at least from what i am finding out will become dark colors for a few reasons.

Being upset, trying to get warm, resting, relaxing and refusing other chameleon's advances.

My chameleon when resting is a mix of blues, browns, greens, yellows, teals and orange. as seen here:

My chameleon when awake is brilliant yellows and oranges with a light green body.

Oh thank you. I am a noob as far as chameleon keeping, Hawk being my first and only and I've had him since June of last year, but I have always admired chameleons and knew about their color schemes for a while: changing due to temperature, mood, and so on. It's just that, like I said in the other post, those pics weren't very many days apart, and not far apart at all as far as time of the day: the first one being as soon as he woke up and the second being just a few minutes afterwards. Temps were basically the same and obviously I don't know what he was thinking, lol, but I don't think his mood would have been any different at all. And throughout the day he is neither of those color schemes, staying a darker color for the most part, and then changing to the lighter looking colors, like from the 1st pic, when he wants out.

I'm not trying to take the leg off I had it by the leg in the tweezers and was offering it to geordi and I thought that when he shot to take it the leg would come off and instead the crickets were ripping in half through their bodies. He's got one strong tongue!

Haha I guess so lol. I guess just try to let them go as soon as he shoots one...good luck getting the timing down :D.
