regular shed is a regular shed
head shed is when only their head is shedding while the body is not.
Not much different.
I think veiled cham is the one that have this kind of shed more often.
a lot of people often ask why their chameleon's head turn white.
well, that's the time when they are about to have head shed.

As they get older, it sometimes takes a while for a complete shed. When they're real young, their skin "pops" off. It can take as little as 30 minutes. I've notices that my adults shed in stages, sometimes over weeks. A tail, then a head, then the body. There's really not an order, just when the skin's ready to shed. Baltazar shed his tail about 2 weeks ago, now his head and the ridge on his back is shedding this weekend. I imagine in the next couple weeks, his body will go too.

You are right about the "pop off" skin. The first time I saw my cham shed it was in a matter of 15 minutes. I kept telling my husband that it was like he just Burst out of his old skin! This last shed took about an hour but still pretty quick. I have noticed that he is staying on one of the low branches of his cage. I have a money tree in the cage right now but he has gotton so big that if he stands on the top branches, they break so no there is not to much of the top the the tree left, that is where he typically hangs out. I live out in the middle of the desert and the only thing that I have out here is a brand new home depot. What kind of plants can I get that will fit into a 2 ft high cage??

In general a head shed will accure more frequently than a body shed as a veiled matures. It has a lot to do with how the shape of a veileds head changes as they age.
The head of a male looks neat as he matures. The ridge over the eyes becomes more pronounced and they get these little bulges under their jaw and the head in general just gets wider and bigger.
