Head Ridge Deformity?

Hey guys,

We've had our Panther Chameleon male for a week now and we are already experiencing his wonderful personality. He's just over 6 months and he's only now started to develop his colours, so it's exciting seeing the changes from day to day :D

One thing we've noticed is with his "prominent dorsolateral ridge." The ridge that goes over his left eye seems to have parts of it missing. It doesn't look it's ever been there, eg there are no signs of damage or scarring that we can see. So we were thinking he was born with a little deformity. Is this a common thing and can this affect his future health? Currently he's getting on fine, and it's not affecting him in anyway. His left eye has the full range of motion and his accuracy when hunting with his food is amazing.

Just thought i'd put it out there and see if anyone else has any experiences?

I'll link photo's showing his ridge.

Many thanks in advance.

Pete

Welcome to the forums! Pete is a little cutie and looks like such a sweet boy. My guess would be he was left in the same bin with his siblings too long and one of them nipped it off.....just a guess. One of my little veiled babie nipped his brother in the same spot but not nearly as bad and after a shed it looked pretty good. I'm attaching my blog for new keepers. You should find it helpful in keeping Pete healthy and happy.
