just misted my little guys viv ,soon as he seen my hand he started hissin, body went full ov agressive black spots, and lunged at my hand , what a bold little guy, scarred the shit out ov me to b honest.lol.

haha yea. they are good at that.
if you got water on him, he probably just freaked out.. its normal.

I know you only got him yesterday, so give him a week or two to settle in before you try getting your hand near him. It takes them a while to get used to a new house, new people, routines and vibrations. Just do the essential feeding and misting for now before getting a hand too close. Remember to move slowly too, any sudden movements can scare them. When Amy was small I offered her a Morio (super) worm for the first time and moved my thumb quick to stop it falling off my hand and she totally freaked out! She had her chin out, arm up karate style and was rocking too, bless her!

freaked out

thanx tiff, the way he went all spotty black freaked me out, at first i thought somethin was wrong with him , so i got my cham book out to check what the different colourations mean, so now i know he was just tellin me to back off or your gunna be finding out how my jaws r gettin stronger. just gunna let him settle down and get used to just seein me .

The only time I saw Tommy's black spots was when I tried to add a new stick to his cage without taking him out first! He hated that stick, lol! They don't take very easily to change and he taught me that I should take him out of the viv before changing things or adding new sticks!

I had that same experience with Bodhi. I tried to add a sleek in his cage while he was still in there. He tried to eat it and kill it! It's funny how it's not a big deal if you take them out before you add something. Chameleons really do hate change.
