Now that I have moths and humming bird feeder and liquid food do I have to help them figure out how to use the feeder

Congrats! They will figure it out on their own. They are primarily nocturnal so dont worry if theyre doing nothing during the day. Do you have any plants for them to lay on?

Can anyone tell me where I can get ahold of these guys? Seems like a big, juicy, food option.

buy some hornworms and when they get big, put them in dirt an they will pupate into moths. Also if you view our site sponsors...Educational Science sells the pupae that turn into the moths.

Also thanks for the replies I have 15 cacoons all cacooned within a week of eachother so hopefully they hatch close enought to mate lol. I have 2 out today one big body one small so hope one male one female. I'll let everyone know how I make out. I only pay .50 each so I never tried before but if it works ill keep breeding them.:)

I know this is a few days old, but just in case! If for some reason one doesn't figure out how to eat (it happens every now and then with moths/butterflies) then hold it in such a way that the wings are gently held down (so they cant flap) and use a tooth pick to unroll the probiscis (mouth/feeding tube thing) and place it into the food. Once it is drinking, you can gently put its feet on something and let it's wings go so it can drink on its own.

After a day or two of being out, the ones that dont learn to drink tend to have shrunken bellies. Once you show them how to feed, you can see the belly get bigger!

Awsome thank u so.. much this is my first horn wor project I have everything else going lol. Crickets supers meal worms fruit flies special banana Beatles and these guys I've just cocenntrated on one insect at a time until I figured it out. Maybe silks next
