Have you seen this?!!

Here are a couple photos I took in Ambilobe a few years back:

This photo was of an individual to the N/NE of Ambilobe and seems to me like an intergrade between a "typical" Ambilobe and a Diego Suarez:

The problem is, this is an extremely variable locale (as many are). The photo of the Antelobe, or whatever they said it was, looks to me like one of the standard color variations of Ambilobe, however.

Chris,

Awesome photos. I noticed the yellow underbellys. One of them has a pink underbelly. I remember about 5 years ago I had a panther that must have been an ambilobe before they called them that. Stunning shades of pink on the underbelly and I could not figure out at the time what it was. It wasn't until re-entering the hobby recently and seeing the ambilobes that I figured it out.

You're in the position to set the record straight on a bunch of issues. Hope you do that...for all of us. I'm seeing alot of "ambilobes" that are really mixed morphs.

This thread is interesting because its really three different threads.

Sure, I have had my mistakes...
Like, I worked with chameleons for over 10 years spelling the genus Chamaeleo as "Chameleo"... what the heck kind of purpose does that "a" serve anyway???

Don't feel too bad, Mike still calls them "Rieppeleon Brevicaudatus."
