title says it all, I want to try and get an understanding who has been successful or unsuccessful breeding hornworms and/or silks? Trying to get small ones for my 3.5 month old has been a hassle so want to start my own as well save on costs for some feeders between my brother and i and our other reptiles.

was it easy, or pain in the butt?

I have already found great guides on both from pigletts blog.

It can be very time consuming. You have to be willing to put in time and patience to do it right. Worm breeding definitely isn't for everyone. I have even taken periods of time off of breeding just because I needed a break. If you have lots of mouths to feed it can be worth it. But it's gets tiring and when I feel like it's too much work I just buy them online for a while and eventually get back in to it. I do enjoy breeding bugs of all types and do spend a bit of time everyday tending to my bug colonies.

For sure a pain I the butt at times though.

Buying silk and horn worm eggs online is more cost effective than buying worms and you get the small size you want.

yeah think thats how i will end up too, stop and go. still heard good life experience lol. like i know many people spend alot more on feeders but my brother and i spent nearly $200 on feeders at the last expo for 6 ornate box turtles, 2 tortoises, corn snake, handful of leopard geckos, my cham and whatever else my brother may have around

.

havent quite looked yet, but most places that do hornwormeggs are in the states and cost $15 for shipping. still cost effective but pricey shipping costs. i'll look for canada or if someone knows of any that would be great.
