Have I killed them all?

As some of you may remember, I was keeping my silkworms eggs in the fridge to diapause them. I kept them in the door and a few hatched quite soon despite being in the fridge. After that I moved them to the back of the top shelf where it should be coldest. However, none of the eggs I have taken out have hatched since warming them up. Is it possible that they had started developing whilst in the fridge door and would moving them somewhere cooler has killed them all?

could be? Anything kept on the door is usually kept at a warmer average temp than in the back of the fridge because of the opening and closing of the door. waving in the warmer house air.

Well it could be.. How long have you been waiting for? Is it more than two weeks?
I found a few days gap between eggs hatching! Some of my worms were half inch already and some were just starting to hatch.
Other than that how're doing with the worms? Can't wait for the mulberry tree to get bigger leaves! I'm nearly there!! It's been very challenging.. My last month and half it's all been about silkworms!! :-/

I read somewhere online recently that keeping different worms in the fridge should be done at 43 farenhuiet. So top shelf could of been to much

Thanks for that info. I had my small Mulberry tree overwintering in the shed, and I too it out and we had a couple of night's hard frosts which have turned the leaves black, just as they had started to grow. Damn weather, now it won't stop raining!

Thanks, I guess I shall just have to wait and see. These eggs look different to the ones I had before. I ordered eggs online and, not realising they had been taken out of diapause to be sent to me, I put them into the fridge. These eggs actually looked smaller and dried up, whereas these ones are stil quite large and plump looking.

I believe you and I started the silkworm thing around the same time. I also had eggs in the fridge and I took them out, put them in my incubator, waited.....NOTHING. Waited another week......still nothing. So I turned the incubator off and gave up on them. The other day I just so happened to look in my incubator, and the little suckers were hatching! I don't know how I lucked out to actually look on the very same day, but I got them some chow, and they are growing. I would say it took about 4 weeks after taking them out....but they are hatching, so don't give up on them!

Well, that is encouraging! I won't give up on them just yet then! I had one egg in the first lot I took out (so long ago I can't remember when) that went see through and I could see the baby worm inside, but it never hatched. :(
