Well im needing a to ask a few questions as i know NOTHING about chameleons, only very little.

You see my boyfriends cham died a lil while ago and hes not been right, so im gettin him another one as a surprise, but i dont want to ask him anything as im not always the most subtle of people, and i want it to be a surprise for him :)

Well he already has a tank, but thats not at his, he would need to travel to take it there.

So how would i transport it? What would make it comfiest for them? Iv seen a few people say a paper bag with a wet paper towel at the bottom, but i need something that he might need to stay in for a few days. I can get food, heat, water and all that, just i know that they get stressed easily, and would being handled and such stress them?
Sorry for the long questions

I would have to say that this is not a good gift to get if you cannot take it right to it's proper home-which generally means screen cage (NEVER A TANK), proper UVB lighting, basking lighting, live plants, vines, supplements, digital thermometer (essential), etc... Chameleons stress VERY easily, they are not a good animal if you want to handle something. I would suprise him with the proper equipment, and then let him order the animal from one of the site sponsors so he gets a nice healthy animal.

This depends on the type of chameleon and where you live!

But i do agree, you should have the enclosure set up and ready to receive the animal on the day.

Could you not arrange it for who ever has the enclosure to set it up? And then pick up the animal the day you are able to travel down to pick the enclosure up.
The Rep shop will hold the animal until you are ready.

I don't think you should give anyone a live animal unless it's all been arranged with the person in advance. That goes for chameleons, puppies, bunnies, you name it.

Buy a gift certificate or pre-pay the purchase of a chameleon with a reputable breeder. I would not buy an actual animal.

Also it sounds like your boyfriend and you may not understand the proper care for chameleons. Please do your research first.
