Hatchlings are just the most amazing thing ever!!!

Yes humans can get leptospirosis from mammals. But leptospirosis is only transmitted through urine. Hygiene hygiene hygiene!
 
Good to know that! Whew!

Back when one of my Parsons chameleons had a fungal infection and the vet was trying to determine what he had, we had all been touching the chameleon with our bare hands and the diagnosis came back as trichophyton (ring worm) we were all thinking...oh no, were all going to get ring worm! Luckily the diagnosis was wrong. It turned out to be CANV which we also didn't get. (That was the chameleon that started the CANV identification and subsequent studies BTW.)
These things can be scary sometimes!
