Hi I have 2 very small panther chameleons I had a few questions about shedding. I have them in a tub right now with 2 live pothos 2 fake plants and a few sticks with different levels of basking areas. Its cold were I live right now so I have a basking light on the temps range from 77 to 85 in the tub were I keep the 2 male and female the male is larger and I think older than the female. The humidity levels are hard to keep high but they are usually around 40 on the probe gages. I mist every hour or 2 and they go up and then goes back to 40 when it dries out than I mist again with warm water. They are both eating and drinking very well I have a dripper that runs also. I feed fruit fruit flies and little crickets I dust with rep cal without d3 everyday and with d3 and multivitamins every other sunday. I have had them 2 weeks and they seem great both drinking and eating I feed twice a day in the morning and afternoon/ evening the male has shed once and the female hasn't shed at all. wanted to know how often they should shed. I have a arcadia 6%. I tried feeding small reptiworms they wont eat them I tried bean and rice flour floor beetles they wont eat them. I just wanted any helpful info on how often they should shed and stuff like that please give any info you can.

Usually they eat a good bit before shedding then when they are shedding, they don't eat as much. If you'd like to help them shed easier, mist with warm water, not directly on but if the misting is light, some tend to come closer to the water. They are pretty cranky when they are in the process of shedding so try not to distrupt them too much. Usually they shed every 2-3 weeks. Keeping humidity up is important as well for if they can't shed completely, it'll do some damage! May I see a photo of your enclosure? Also how many chams and how old?

these are the pictures of the enclosure for now till they get bigger I only have 2 male and female

I have 18x18x36 for her when she gets older and a 24x24x48 for him when he gets older I'm going to make a cage for when the get about 3 months when I split them up if not sooner to keep them in till they get older and I put them in their adult cage. to me they look health eat drink and are active. they already now who I am and come and try to climb on me all the time when feeding and cleaning.

Oo, they are baby babies. So cute! Looks about a 3 weeks to a month old. Def not to mist directly on but maybe around. I wouldn't worry much about them shedding as long as everything is kept up to par. Males most likely have to live separate within. 2-3 months though. I wouldn't worry much about the female shedding unless it's close to the 3 weeks mark.

BTW have you looked into Phoenix worms ? They are super good in calcium!

What kind of lights are you usin for them? I'm not too familiar with new hatchlings but I do know when they are trying to climb out or away from home kind of means they aren't too happy with the enclosure.

Yea I have reptiworms witch are the same thing as phoenix works they don't like them and just run away lol. right now I have a 150 watt basking bulb you could use a way lower wattage I just live where its cold and I have it hung about 4 feet off the top of the enclosure so it heats up a bigger area around the tub I have a t5 ho hood with a arcadia 6% in it. I have all my live plants I'm growing now for there bigger enclosures next to them with a 6500k day light and a jungle dawn 40 watt running on it also. Before I made the lid for the tub because I had everything low enough in the enclosure so I thought I couldn't find him and he was in all my plants hiding from him he did this twice before I made the top for it and he got the name of Houdini for that. he just like getting to the highest pot witch when I'm feeding him is on top of my head lol. I want to put them in a bigger cage that's taller but with how small they are I'm afraid if they fall they wont live falling from 2 or 3 feet. I'm new to the hatchlings myself I'm trying though. they are really friendly

Yeah babies tend to go close to the light. Our boy did for a while. Once they get bigger they'll get better. Having them as babies and raising them at such a young age shows them who their owner is. They are so cute and friendly as babies. My boy started to give attitudes once he hit 3 months. :cautious: he's still the sweet baby I met though hehe. Has his own ways of communicating with me, like when he wants me to turn the lights off! They are fun, this is when you get to know their personality the most. I know that putting them in a small enclosure is good because you can track their feeding. I guess youll have to wait it out till they get big enough to go to their big boy house. I put a lot of cushion on the bottom to be safe with falling.

yea I'm defiantly going to have to. I cant wait till they start eating big boy food like horn and silk worms. I enjoy giving them the time I do to take care of them
