Hatchling Housing

I was reading on some website about making hatchling housing from gallon water jugs with screen "windows" so the babies can be kept separated. How do you breeders keep your hatchlings until old enough to sell? Does anyone have a good site that shows build it yourself housing for hatchlings that will last until selling age? (about 2-3 months)

Thanks. Ezine is where I found the milk jug idea - didn't care for that as expressed above, but this is a more workable solution.

I hope there are others out there who can use this idea also.

Baby housing

For the first month I house my hatchlings in small aquariums. Once they are on 1/4" crickets they move into this enclosure. Equipped with mist king low flow check valve misting setup. Weather board to allow for easy cleaning, and water drainage. The whole enclosure slopes to the front. Water runs out the bottom at the front into the tubing. The tubing slopes to the right and drains out a smaller tube into a pail below. The bottom cages are setup the same.

Exactly.....That took about 3 days to build and about $450 in materials and misting nozzles

Wow that setup is exactly what i was planning to build for my babys except i plan to design mine so that its bug proof cause ill probably put them in a cage system like that from the start.

The misting nozzles would probably be the most expensive part. Ive done some calculations on what it would take to build a setup like that and it didnt even hit $150 Not including the light fixtures.
