I caught him doing his hunter leaf dance and then he shot his tongue at some water droplets. Never seen him do that before the last time I saw him drink (only once before) he licked the leaf

This is very common. Basically their tongue lets them reach water droplets on leaves they can't quite climb close enough to lick. It may also be one of the many ways they avoid giving their location away...a tongue flick might attract less attention than climbing to the water droplet. If they don't have to climb right up to droplets they won't knock as much of the water off the surrounding leaves too.

Yes mine does it a lot sometimes she puts a whole leaf in her mouth sucks takes the water then let's go

I have a female panther that will ONLY drink like this. It's such a PITA trying to keep lots of droplets all over the leaves, and every now and then she's splash water all over my face. She has never shown signs of dehydration and is among my healthiest chams. Just keep a dripper going for them and they'll be fine.

Mine do it all the time with their misting system. Water collects on the screen and they will launch for it. I've even had one male launch his tongue at an opposing male!
