Hard Water?!

RO installation can be done on a temporary level. No need to make it a permanent fixture in your apartment. I just kept the whole unit under the sink and pulled it out when I needed it. It does have to be connected to a cold water line, but that's easy enough.

Look under your sink. The hose going from the cold water valve to the sink faucet in an apartments is usually a flexible tubing line. Pull this off and then go to the hardware store. Take the line with you if you think it will help you. In the plumbing section, they should have an assortment of those tubes complete with screw down connectors, made of various materials and sizes. Find a copper tubed connector. Then install that under your sink. This is the line needed to tap into the cold water line with the RO unit. Then keep the old line and just put it back when you move.

This may sound like a lot of work/hassle, but really your talking about a 15 minute job.
