Hanging out constantly

My male veiled gizmo is going through some changes. Some I expected and others in not so sure of. He's getting mean hissing at me and telling me off. Trying to bite me. This I expected. But since he is growing I updated his cage to a much larger cage but now all he does all day long is hang upside down and stare into his UVB light. He refuses to come out of his cage. He drinks water upside down by flicking his tounge at the dropper and misting heads. He eats upside down and sleeps upside down. But he Hasent pooped in 4 days now and I've tried to convince him to come down but he bit me and it hurt now I'm timid even hand feeding him. Why is he acting like he is depressed?? Tried giving him extra branches and plants to no avail

Give lots of branches, vines plants etc to climb on.

hes getting settled into his cage, how far is his uvb from his basking branch?

what is his basking temp?

Basking temp is 85-87 and he is about 10-12 inches away from the UVB in some places and only 4-5 inches in other. He has a 3 foot ficus and a small hibiscus in his xl Exo terra cage. The ficus reaches the top of the cage and I have a benda branch that is at the top that he use to bask on

he probably feels hes too far away from his uvb bulb. not surprising.

try moving it closer for him.

Ok the not surprising was unnessasary but thanks I guess

i didnt mean it as you. I meant it wasnt surprising thats what hes doing, hanging upside down so much.

didnt mean that as an insult. sorry!

If he has a branches that are both 10 inches and 4-5 inches away it shouldn't be an issue. How old is the UVB?

The UVB is only 2 months old. I moved him closer so 4 -5 inches almost everywhere and even less in some places. He would come down a little bit and bask up right. And he was hoarding his poo in the river stones I have on his plant. :) he is acting better though. I guess he is acclimating?

From what I have come to understand, these guys are just doing their thing. Their behaviour seems to be unpredictable, but if he's getting enough light and food he's probably healthy and just doing what he feels comfortable doing. My veiled has hissed at me a couple times when I've reached into his enclosure and this should be a friendly reminder that he's perfectly fine without being bothered. Ha. :). And then sometimes he's dying to come out and crawls at me through the cage. I think they're just moody animals, like us.
