Handling my Panther

I have had Skittles, my 7 month old amilobe panther chameleon for about 4 months. He's my first chameleon and I am really enjoying having one. I understand that handling for a chameleon is not always tolerated but that doesn't stop me from wanting to handle mine. Anyway, every once and a while I try to put my hand in the cage and pick him up. Sometimes I he steps up onto my palm with his forefront and sits there for a little bit. Anyway, I hand feed him basically every time he eats. The second he sees my fingers he sticks out his tongue. If anyone has experiences to share of holding their panther chameleon, or how you got to handle your chameleon please share. Possibly some tips? I am just way too eager to taking him out of his cage. My plans for the future are too let him bask outside on a plant and soak some real UVB. But this won't happen if I can't hold him! Thanks, any input, tips or experience will be MUCH appreciated.

My panther Diesel

I hold Diesel nearly every day he loves it its a struggle to get him back in to his tank sometimes. I've had him from 3.5m he's now 6.5m when I first got him he wouldn't hand feed but sometimes dose now (bit of a contrary mary) if he put his frount legs on you gently lift up your hand and he'll step up onto it. After he's more used to it you can just put your hand under and he'll step on he'll probably go strait for your shoulder so where somthing he can climb on (knitted jumpers are good) he might try sitting on your head too but mind as your hair will be slippy and he might fall, give him your finger to wrap his tail round :) If you take him out to bask he'll get used to nice things happening when he's out and will be more willing yiu could also try him sitting on one hand and eating out of your other :D try and relax and enjoy! Dont worry they are pretty hardy xx
