Hand Watering Help

I have a free range setup with a mister that goes off 4-5 times a day, and a dripper that drips almost everyday on to some leaves that are easy to see and get to. Despite this, and have been in the setup for quite some time his urates still appear dehydrated. He eats just fine, moves around etc., but I want to make sure he is well hydrated. I feel as if this is the one thing he his missing from everything about his setup (minus I wish I had a larger selection of feeders). I bought a small mist bottle and try to get water to barely come out from the end onto his mouth. But he doesn't seem to like it. I know it's new to him and make take some adjusting, but I wanted to get some of y'alls input on your luck with hand watering. Thanks!

Instead of the spray bottle, try a rubber or plastic eye dropper (or a syringe without a needle) and just drop one drop of water onto his nose at a time.

take him and a plant to the shower for 15 min for a cpl days and give a hot shower. If he is thirsty he will drink in the shower usually.

What's the humidity level in the room? If it is dry, your cham can dehydrate faster than it can replace fluid loss by drinking. They are adapted to live in places where the air humidity is naturally much higher than our homes tend to be. Something like 60% relative humidity in a typical house would be very uncomfortable for the people but would keep a cham happy. You may have to humidify the air to keep your cham balanced.

I FR my Cham also and he is not always on the FR when the mister goes off. I hand mist him every morning before work with almost hot water in a gallon Round Up pump. He loves it and it keeps him well-hydrated. I start the "rain" on his tail so he knows it's coming and then gradually go up to his body and head. He sits for twenty minutes enjoying it! He will often turn his body to get the water at a different angle. I have noticed if the water is too cool, he will wander away after only a few minutes. And he likes the spray from the back of his body going toward the front - not sprayed into his face.

The humidity is usually between 50-70% based off my digital reader.

Good idea, I'll have to try it...

Your description describes someone who loves to give showers to their cham. I am also one of those lovers. I always use heated water and I have a superb drainage system so my chams get long, beneficial shower mistings each day.

Yes. He enjoys it so much! Plus he cleans his eyes practically the whole time. It's a nice time to spend with him each day.
