Hand feeding

I've had Kuzco for a little over a week and he is doing well! I've started offering him superworms by hand but he'll only eat one. Then it's like he realizes that I was holding it and doesn't want anymore until I put it on the screen. Just curious if this normal? It's funny because he doesn't hesitate at all for the first one!

hand feeding tips

my baby veiled will do the same thing sometimes..and then other times he will let me feed him several.
Make sure the worm is moving, I have pinched them between my fingers which makes them wiggle a lot and I will get Max-A-Meleon's attention very quickly.
Also to help with hand feeding if you can wait until a little later in the day when he is hungrier, like on a weekend when you can feed at noon instead of 8am.

When Omar was little he used to sit on my hand and eat out of a dish (worms or crickets) now that he is older he does not like being held to eat so I feed him by putting worms like silks. horns or butters on a stick and holding it out to him and he will take the worm. Today I tried putting one in my hand after he ate several and he headed towards it then he seemed to recognize it was in my hand rather than a stick and he was like "oh no you don't" and would not eat it until I put it on the stick!
