GUYS RED ALERT

SHE WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND WAS PACING AND THEN WENT BACK UP THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME I SAW HER DO THAT I THOUGHT SHE WAS YOUNGER APPARENTLY NOT ANYWAY I NEED HELP THE DIRT IS STILL MUD WHAT DO I DO

Ok so I'm a little calmer now. I put the dirt in the oven, 250 degrees for an hour, and am waiting for it to be ready. My mom thinks egg laying can and should be stopped completely.....evidence against this for me please?

I'm curious why your mom thinks baking dirt will stop a chameleon from laying eggs? If she really is ready to lay you shouldn't stop her in any way, it's already happening. If you do, it's only going to harm her and cause her to become egg bound. Get her a laying bin ASAP if she really is ready. From the previous pics you've posted though she still looks pretty young. You said yourself she's only about 3.5 months old. It's better to be over prepared though. Best of luck.

I thought she was that young, apparently she is older. And she said to make it colder and feed her less....too bad I will spoil her for now. Anyway, yeah. The dirt is getting ready, I'm at the computer waiting, and my mom said to me "This is your first chameleon stay open to suggestion." I almost told her that you guys are far more experienced.

One...you CANT stop egg laying. Its what they do, its a physical and natural motion w a cham. So as far as telling your mom, explain that its like a chicken. Wheter thr cham mated or not it WILL lay eggs and thats just part of being a cham owner. Sad to say the biggest hurdle owning this great animal will be your parents.

Linds his dirt was like mud, hes just trying to bake mositure out.

I don't have a female but I think making it colder and feeding her less is for when she's older to prevent the eggs from forming as often in the first place. Once they're there though there's not much you can do but help her lay them.

Yes you are right

Lol like everybody said these are not robots you can't just turn them on and off they do what they do just be prepared and make it as comfortable for her as you can good luck

Is your mom unwilling to read the forum's care articles to educate herself? I think if she did it would help with all the questions on cham care that are cropping up. As for trusting the information found here I think she'll realize we do know what we are talking about.
