gutloading hornworms?

do hornworms need a special gutload to live? or can they eat the usual fruits and veggies? i have been trying to gutload hornworms found in my garden to get the tomato plant toxin out before feeding but i didn't have much luck last time, they died. Help?

Generally they will only eat artifical diet or their natural diets. Some people claim to have success feeding them Tomato or Bell pepper.

try bell pepper fruit and grape vine leaves

oh good because I did put a fresh bell pepper in there. and they did eat it. I also put some lettuce but they don't really like it so oh well. I have some more bell peppers i can give them for a day or two.
