Ok, I already gutload my crickets with spinach, carrots, oranges, potatoes, dandelion leaves, and the food that comes from mulberry farms that looks like bread crumbs.
I'm looking to expand my gutload, so what other suggestions do you guys have?

kale, mustard greens,m alfafa, bee polen, mango, apples, banana, melon, summer squash, :)

try to avoid or just minimize spinache, tomatoes, and broccoli in your gutload,

a lot of it can inhibit your cham from absorbing calcium to the bones. they are calcium inhibitors , i forgot the word but also have globulins??? sorry im forgetfull today:eek:

You can use dandelions, kale, collards, endive, escarole, mustard greens, carrots, squash, zucchini, sweet potato, sweet red pepper, once in a while...celery leaves, romaine lettuce, etc.

my trader joes doesnt have it :( but pretty much any heath food/supplement store...bee pollen and spirulina are a bit pricey, so most people dont use too much of it...it those make up the smallest amount in dry gutload...sandrachameleon has a few blogs about gutloading, including why she uses what she uses

mustard greens, turnip greens, papaya, butternut squash, kale, collards, carrots, apples, lime, bee pollen, kelp

thats whats in mine :)

hi.didnt want to start a new thread for a simple question.

- if i use dry feed like cricket crack, can i feed the crickets this everyday or should i sometimes feed vegatables and fruits? just wondering. thanks!

I buy a lot of my gutloading items through bulkfoods.com

Go there and get yourself some bee pollen!

Other dry items not mentioned so far:
alfalfa wheat germ brewer's yeast
sesame seeds chia seeds oatmeal.

Items I've kind of used sparingly are kelp powder and the ever expensive spirulina. I just think that these two items are not readily available to chameleons in a natural prey's stomach. But they can help to cover nutrients we cannot otherwise provide.

I hope this helps! If only we took such care and discipline in feeding ourselves as we do for these guys! Try to remember, they are lizards!:p

Yeah, I eat more veg and fruit myself now I keep lizards again, so that's good - but why do I seem to care so much more how well fed my locusts are than how healthy I am? :D
