First, let's start with your setup(s) to make sure that you have everything right for each individual adult chameleon that you plan on breeding, after that has been established as being correct then we can move on to the introductions.
I personally introduce the male in to the females enclosure so that SHE is familiar with escape routes if she is not interested.
I agree with the close initial monitoring to make sure the female is receptive - if she isn't you need to remove the male IMMEDIATELY - no need to cause undue stress to the female.
Laying container - what do you know about this for the female?
Incubator - do you already have one, if so what kind?
Incubations times - these tend to vary a bit, but I have found that at a constant 74-75 degrees that you can have babies in anywhere from 6-9 months.
Do you have means to have the means to take care of the babies - meaning food sources mainly, but also different enclosures for the different sizes that you will have on an ongoing basis for anywhere from 3-6-10 months?
I order about 10,000 crickets a month to feed my chams right now, this includes 3 different sizes - not to mention FF, silkworms, and dubias - which are the 3 main sources of food that I offer.
Breeding chams is not the huge money maker that most people think it is - so make sure you have the answers to all of the above before you consider this.
