Just wondering guys how fast do veiled chams grow.I'd imagine every Cham is different and probably depends on how they are kept is just like a general idea. Fred is t months old now and about 7 inches snout to vent.I only have him little over 2 weeks and can see him growing already.his body is maybe a little fuller, in a healthy way not much in length but his casque (I think that's the term for the veil) has grown considerably. Also is the size of the veil and the spurs on the rear feet related to how much of an alpha male or whatever they are. again just out of curiosity

Can you post a photo? (on a hand or ruler or something for size reference.) If he is 7 inches snout to vent he is a gigantic 5 month old. My 4 year old adult male is only 7.5-8 inches snout to vent.

The growth depends on how much food it is eating, the basking and ambient temperatures, health, and genetics.

That is awfully big for a 5 month old or my veiled is awfully small for a 5 month old, he is only 5 1/2 inches from snout to vent.

Sorry I'm tellin yas lies ha.he's around 5 Inches id say.I can't measure him yet because he doesnt want to be handled and I dont want to push it as Im tryin to get him used to me still.its hard to judge size when looking in.I was trying to compare him to my hand.so what can I expect for growth speed then an inch a year maybe

He will grow fairly quickly until about a year and it will slow down. Then it will slow down again around 18-24 months old. Veiled can reach sizes up to 22-24 inches total length, but those are very large individuals. A more average size would be 17-19 inches total length.

i have a cham (had him for 6 weeks) guessing he may be near 3 months, but he always seems small compared to pics i see here:confused:
