Just wondering if anyone has done any study on the growth of Veiled chameleons in particular, in regard to their growth rate. I.e. average size at certain ages?

I weigh my guys every week but I don't measure them. I have a record in my computer of a male and female that I had and can post it if you are interested let me know.

Not that I am aware of.

Veiled's growth rate can vary wildly depending on the husbandry given. What may be "normal" may be very different for two different situations. I've seen adult sized veileds at 4 months, and other veileds in different hands that are less than 6" at that age.

Are you able to keep veileds in australia? I figured chameleons would not be allowed there.

Hi jannb
That would be great if you could post that document, would help a lot.

Hi fluxlizard,
Yeah I figured it would be highly variable depending on feeding regime and husbandry, just like any other reptile.
We're only allowed to keep natives here in Australia so unfortunately I can't keep chams myself.
There's only roughly 20 veileds in the whole country distributed across a few different zoos (at least those that are kept legally)....
I work at one of those zoos and we have 2 males and 2 females but haven't had any successful breeding as yet, hence why I'm putting together a husbandry manual for the species, hopefully to increase the success rate in the region.
