Grey/brown veiled!

You may be lucky enough to have landed youself with a brown veiled. There are a few threads on this forum about veileds that never turn green, just stay brown all the time. They still go through the range of changing colour intensity, from dark brown to an almost graylike colour. You've never see him green correct?
Not sure about locusts, never been available locally to me, but several other members seem to feed locusts no problem. Just don't go picking them off your lawn, get them from a store or reliable dealer.

Unfortunately i have seen him green, when i purchased him he was enlosed in a small viv with a female - i bought the pair, split them up and hes been dark ever since! Perhaps I broke his heart lol!! Not sure what to do next? Dont whether to mess around with temps a bit - a few degrees hotter maybe? x

Lily has always prefered locusts to crickets and she's just over a year old now. I hadn't heard that locusts are toxic! 
I'm interested to know where you read that?
As I said Lily loves them and she's always eaten them! Maybe it has something to do with the brown/black liquid they spit out when they are threatened?! Other than that, I don't know.

Can't offer any help with the colour I'm afraid. 
Maybe they need more time to settle in? Lily stays green and only goes really dark when basking in the sun. I've never seen her brown at all. Even if she sees herself in the mirror she doesn't change - just opens her mouth and hisses at herself! I tried it the other day as I thought she may be gravid (hoping to get the dark colours with yellow and blue spots) but she didn't change colour at all!

You could always post a picture of your enclosure and a picture of your chameleon, maybe someone will be able to point out any husbandry issues?
I'm not implying that there are or that you're doing something wrong or anything, but there are some extremely experienced keepers on this forum that might be able to help if they can see your cham and/or enclosure.
